SSUCHY will present results at the Conference on Biobased Composites in the Marine Environment !

March 22, 2021

On April 22-23, the Conference on Biobased Composites in the Marine Environment will be held 100% online. Organized by the University of South Brittany (IRDL Laboratory), SSUCHY scientist Dr. Taiqu Liu, will participate to present its latest results.

The conference is the third to be held within the framework of the FLOWER project. It will focus on the use of bio-based materials and composites in the marine environment.

SSUCHY will contribute with the dissemination of its current works through Dr. Taiqu Liu’s presentation entitled “Influence of water aging on the damping properties of plant fiber composites”.

Finally, we would like to highlight the participation of keynote speakers such as Pr. Aart Van Vuure (KULeuven) who participates in the SSUCHY project in the phase “Bio-based composites and sandwich materials” . As well as the particpation of Prof. Jörg Müssig (U. of Bremen) who is part of the Advisory Board of the SSUCHY project. In addition, other scientific presentations, companies pitches and individual meeting will take place during the two days of the conference.

The conference will host the following topics:

  • Plant fibres and preforms for biobased composite materials
  • Matrices and interfaces
  • Biobased composites in the marine environment, in-use properties
  • Deconstruction, end of life, recycling, and environmental assessment of biobased composites
